eventually she smiles

so here's the deal, a couple of weeks ago i found myself alone and yearning for some girl time. lucky for me, krista's schedule gels with mine and before i know it she's getting out of a cab in front of my apartment. from that moment on i proceeded to wear her out.

we shopped, ate papaya dogs in a sketchy neighborhood, caught the ferry to ellis island, shopped, bought some sunglasses from one of those secretive black trash bags, watched a movie under the brooklyn bridge, shopped, watched almost a whole season of the tudors, frequented starbucks, ate square jelly filled doughnuts, and holy shopped some more.

all in all our four days were a smashing success. don't let the frown fool you.

down the hall

going through the wedding photos today to get them off to the bride, i came across this shot. it could possibly be my favorite one from the day. luckily these two girls are pretty well adjusted to me being behind a camera lens in front of them.

ok so seriously?

do we look alike, cause we got the sisters comments a few times and i just don't see it. maybe it's because i have huge bags under my eyes. how does one rid themselves of huge bags?

wedding numero deux

as always, our summer is jam packed. this past weekend i had the opportunity to be in PA for a wedding. of course sitting in traffic for four hours on the way there was less than exciting. the husband did come along though as my help and he did a great job getting everyone in order.

here's just a few of my favorites:

craft and craft alike

i've been a crafty disappointment lately. i know it, i admit it. but to be perfectly honest i have no time to do anything. anything crafty that is. it's not like the good old days where i had a dedicated room to all things ribbon and fabric. nowadays, creating is a much longer process that includes unpacking everything, setting it all up, doing whatever it is i plan to do with the remaining 20 minutes and then putting everything neatly away so as to not clutter the 500 sq ft apartment.

i have endless unfinished projects, like the photo albums for mb's new baby that finally arrived, the newly born twins blankets which may end up being a one year birthday gift, a summer bag, and a gambit of other 'want to' creative projects. i keep a notebook of all my ideas, so someday, when i do have loads of time on my hands, i'll be able to make a whole plethora of things to sit down and admire. not to mention all those patterns left untouched.

until then i'll just envy everyone else's free time....like these parking meter cozies that popped up on a small brooklyn street one day.
